Our tans typically last about 7-10 days with proper care. The longevity can vary depending on your skin type and daily routine. To make your tan last as long as possible, we recommend moisturizing regularly (well-hydrated skin retains a tan longer) and avoiding long hot baths, swimming in chlorinated pools, or excessive exfoliation. Your tan will gradually fade evenly over the course of the week, and you can come in for a touch-up or another session once it starts to lighten.

Preparation is key for the best results! The day before your appointment (or the morning of), gently exfoliate your whole body to remove any dead skin – this helps the tan apply evenly and last longer. It’s best to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your session (shaving right before can leave pores open, which might result in tiny dots). On the day of your tan, come in with clean, dry skin – no lotions, oils, perfume, makeup, or deodorant, as these can create a barrier and affect the outcome. I also suggest wearing or bringing dark, loose-fitting clothing and flip-flops for after your session, since the cosmetic bronzer can rub off a little on fabrics before your first shower. Proper prep will ensure you get an even, gorgeous color!

After your tanning session, you’ll want to take care to maintain that beautiful glow. First, allow the tan to dry completely before getting dressed, and try not to touch your skin to avoid palm stains. Avoid showering or getting wet for at least 8-10 hours (or whatever time we advise based on the solution used) so the tan can fully develop – many clients just wait until the next morning. When you do shower for the first time, use a mild soap, rinse gently with warm water, and don’t be alarmed if you see some color washing off – that’s just the surface bronzer, not your actual tan. Pat your skin dry (don’t rub) with a towel. After showering, apply a generous amount of moisturizer; keeping your skin hydrated is the secret to a longer-lasting tan. Moving forward, moisturize at least once or twice a day. Also, try to avoid activities that exfoliate your skin too quickly – for example, skip long hot baths, saunas, and limit swimming in chlorinated water, as these can fade your tan faster. If you plan to be in a pool or the ocean, applying a water-resistant sunscreen can help protect your tan. With good aftercare, your tan will fade evenly and you’ll enjoy your sun-kissed color for as long as possible

Yes, our airbrush tanning formula is designed to be gentle on the skin, even for those with sensitive skin. It’s a high-quality solution (paraben-free and contains naturally derived DHA) that we’ve chosen specifically because it tends to work well for all skin types. Most people, even those who might normally get dry or irritated skin, find that they have no issues with our tans. That said, if you have highly sensitive skin or any particular allergies, please let us know – we can always do a patch test on a small area first, just to be extra sure you won’t have any reaction. Your safety and comfort are super important to us. Also, because airbrush tanning is UV-free, it’s a safer alternative to traditional tanning beds or sunbathing (no risk of UV damage).
